of the many old Bridges Located in South Central Kansas

As I travel around this beautiful State of Kansas 

I am always on the look out for old bridges

I really love the stone arch bridges that are scatted around the State

I have noticed the state has started to identify these old bridges 

with signs on the main road ways.

There are several located in Cowley County 

the signs are small signs that read stone arched bridge with an arrow 

pointing in the direction to the bridge.

There is a sign on K-15 South of Dexter, and then another one on highway 160

just East of Winfield Kansas.

I drove to that one a couple of months ago, there was so many weeds growing around it I was 

unable to get any pictures.

Bois d' Arc, Kansas

Located South and East of Augusta Ks. on the Walnut river
Better known as Bodarc Is nothing more than a spot in the road now.
Going South out of Augusta Kansas on Highway 77 to SW 163rd st
follow this around to S.W. 157th Terrace until to arrive at Bois d' Arc.

This is all that remains with the exception of single family 

residence to east of this building

This is an old natural stone building 

I am guessing used as a General Store back in the day

Bos d' Arc is sets next to the walnut river 

and the old iron bridge that

spans the river 

The Walnut river was almost dry the day we

visited the place

The river bed is mostly large flat rocks

there are woods 

and an abundance of wildlife in the area

Bois d'Arc is an unincorporated community in Butler County, Kansas, United States.

 The town is a few miles south and east of Augusta, Kansas.

 It is located in Bloomington Township, Butler County, Kansas.
